Wear can occur in Chrysler 948TE, Honda/Acura, 9-speed and ZF9HP48 units in the pressure regulator bores. This wear allows critical oil loss and prevents proper line pressure regulation. Incorrect pressure regulation can result in instability, cooler and lube flow restrictions, bad shifts and damaged clutches. Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized pressure regulator valve kit 85740-15K restores correct pressure regulation.

The solenoid pressure regulator valve insures proper flow volume and pressure to the solenoids during hot conditions and low pressure operation. Replaces valves with overall length of 1.157", inner spool length of .435" & end plug with wire retainer.

A unique valve in Chrysler 948TE, Honda/Acura, 9-speed and ZF9HP48 transmissions is the shift valve system pressure valve (SV-SP), which is designed to help control main line pressure by feeding pressure to the inboard side of the main pressure regulator valve. Wear at this SV-SP valve can prevent proper line regulation, which results in incorrect line pressure control, poor shift quality and burnt clutches. Sonnax shift valve system pressure valve kit 85740-07K restores the hydraulic control necessary to provide proper line pressure regulation.

This material is prone to wear from valve plunger reciprocation. Failure of this sleeve results in a variety of shift problems and solenoid codes. Sonnax A & F dog clutch plunger valve kit 85740-05K restores the correct hydraulic clearance and proper function of the assembly.

OE end plugs are designed to prevent critical pressure loss by capping the bore while also functioning as a spring or valve stop. Repetitive spring motion, valve impact and fluid pressure variations cause wear between the end plug and bore mating surface, allowing vital pressure to escape the circuit.

Sonnax O-ringed end plug kit 85740-01K services Chrysler 948TE, Honda/Acura, 9-speed and ZF9HP48 valve bodies. The two individual bores in PBW (Park By Wire) and one bore in PBC (Park By Cable) that use internal end plugs to isolate valves from solenoids are serviced by double O-ringed internal end plugs, which replace damaged OE plugs and restore pressure containment to the bores. The kit also includes single O-ringed end plugs to service the four 13mm bores in PBW and two 13mm bores in PBC valve bodies.

Heavy Duty "E" Clutch Hub
Part No. 35572-38T

Vehicles with ZF8HP70 transmissions utilize an "E" hub that is made from weak, cast A380 aluminum. This material is no match for the high torque generated in these applications. The lock splines of the hub are prone to shearing or breaking, resulting in failsafe, ratio codes and loss of movement. In addition, the steel clutch plates dig into the splines on the drum, causing the plates to hang up and burn. This can happen in as few as 20,000 miles.

Sonnax heavy duty "E" clutch hub 35572-38T is crafted from forged 4000-series aluminum, the same material used for high performance engine pistons. The Sonnax billet hub features a far superior yield strength versus the OE hub, so you can rest easy knowing it will stand the test of time — no more worrying about comebacks due to a failed OE hub.
