K2 clutches in Aisin AW TF-60SN (VW/Audi 09G, 09K, 09M) and BMW 6F21WA units are applied in fourth, fifth and sixth gears in conjunction with other clutch packs. As the K2 clutch control valve oscillates and strokes over time, bore deterioration results, which prevents proper hydraulic control of the K2 clutch pack. This can cause flares, slipping, erratic clutch applytiming, ratio codes, and burnt K2 clutches. Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized K2 clutch control valve kit 15741-05K resturns normal shift operation by restoring the hydraulic integrity of the K2 circuit.
